Love N' Laughter Policies
|
General
policies... |
Our center opens at 6:30am and
closes at 6:00pm to accommodate the many different schedules of working
parents. We hope that no child should remain at the center for more than 10 hours
on any given day, except in cases of emergency.
A child attending the center
must be at least 2 years of age and not older than 5 by date of admission.
We strongly encourage you to
send your children in tennis or other closed-toe shoes. Sandals make it
difficult to run and climb on the playground and are uncomfortable when filled
with mulch. All children must have a season-appropriate change of clothing in
their cubby - accidents happen!
Each
full-day child must bring a fitted crib sheet (these fit our cots snugly) and a
child-size blanket for nap time. A small pillow is optional. Be sure and write
your child's name on each item with a permanent marker. Sheets and blankets
will be placed in the cubbies on your child's last day of the week (every other
week for part-time children) to be taken home, washed, and returned.

Health
policies... |
All enrolled children must have
valid medical forms on file in our office, including updated immunization
records, emergency contacts, and a list of any known allergies.
We
can accept only well children. We depend on you to help us maintain this
policy. All children will be examined on arrival at the center. If symptoms of
illness are observed, the child will be sent home. Symptoms that are cause for
keeping your child home are a cold, coughing, flushed skin, ear ache, red eyes,
chills, headache, skin eruptions, sore throat, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, etc.
Should a child become ill during the day, we will provide care until you can
come for him/her.
|
Discipline policies... |
We
like to use positive reinforcement as a method of discipline. We encourage and
praise children for making smart and safe choices as opposed to constantly
correcting negative behavior. When this does not seem to have an impact, we use
a "time-out" period, during which a child is encouraged to think
about better choices.
|
Weather
policies... |
Provided the temperature is
between 40º and 90º, we will take the children outside for a morning recess and
afternoon fun! We ask that your child be dressed "weather
appropriate" each day.
During the winter months the
center rarely closes. If Parkway is closed, we ask that you simply call
first prior to dropping your child off in the morning to make sure we are up
and running. Chances are, we will be! If road
conditions worsen throughout the day, please check in or leave a number where
you may be reached in case the center were to close early to ensure a safe ride
home for our teachers.
